SFC Summer 2010 Advanced Clinics
Clinic Philosophy
Player development will occur when technical ability, tactical understanding and physical fitness are trained in a positive, challenging and competitive environment. This clinic has been designed to teach each player how to fully reach his/her potential through a demanding week of functional training exercises that teach individual techniques and tactics. This clinic’s objective is to develop players who will respond to the challenges of the game in a confident and creative manner.

Each day small sided games will be played to challenge all players in a competitive environment. The small sided game method is used so that each player gets more touches on the ball. This method will enable players to have more time on the ball, to improve their field awareness, to help their decision making and to increase their ability to read the game and anticipate the play.

Ages U9-U16.

 Joci Rosa Goal Keepers Trainer

The Sachems FC is Proud to Welcome Joci Rosa to Coaching Staff, Focusing on Goalkeeper Training

Joci Rosa was born in the city of Vitoria, Brazil in 1969, a small town in Brazil that produced 5 professional goalkeepers.  He started playing soccer when he was 6 years old. From that early age, he began to focus and excel in the position he loved most -- goalkeeper.  When he was 14 he began to train with the acclaimed Carols Germano, a former Brazilian National Team goalkeeper.

Joci has always played at the goalkeeper position ... in handball, futsal and arena soccer  -- becoming a regional champion in futsal and a state champion of handball in high school, and quickly turning professional at 19 years of age!

He came to the USA in 1992 where he began coaching young soccer players ages 8-22 .  He is the former coach of the Spartak of Newton, MA.  His coaching expertise there helped to bring them a state championship with the best goalkeeper record in the competition!  He has also been coaching with the Inter SC since 1998 to present.  He now joins the Sachems FC coaching staff.  We are lucky to have him as head Goal Keepers Trainer. He will be an integral part of our upcoming Sachems FC Schools: Striker/Keeper Session starting January, 2010, working with Leo Figueiredo.
